What a surprise it was when the girls from Aana Rugby Union thrashed, the star studded team, Town Warriors in the Women's First Leg at Apia Park. What's surprising, was that the Town Warriors team are mainly made up of Manu Sina representatives, with the likes of Gabrielle Apelu, Rowena Faaiuaso, Ana Schuster to name a few. "We were kind of nervous when we know we are going against Town Warriors, but it was not the case, with my girls, i told them to stick to our game plan" "Thats exactly what happened, we forgot we are playing against Manu Sina representatives on the field".However the Aana team is not to be at all over excited, there's four more legs to go, and Town warriors is determine to win all of it.

Town Warriors Rowen Faaiuaso was the first one to cross the score line, by breaking through Aana's defence in the early minutes of the match. It was unsuccessfully converted, putting 5 points on the score board. It was not until the end of the half time, that Aana had an impressive break through by its speedster Vaeluaga who scored under the post, and successfully converted, adding confidence to the girls.

The second half was more physical with the Warriors under pressure, and eager to cross the score line. Unfortnately poor ball handling caused Aana to cross the score line for the second time, adding another 5 points. In total Aana 12 and Town Warriors 5.

Aana is now leading the tournament table with 24 points.

Manu Samoa Sevens Head Coach Stephen Betham and Manager Tausa Faamaoni Lalomilo have named its extended Sevens team list for FORU Sevens in Darwin Australia and the Commonwealth Games in Delhi India.The return of Samoa's extravagant sppedster Mikaele Pesamino, have re-enhanced ingredients into Samoa's Sevens team.From the 18 member squad, 16 will be travelling to Australia. Four will return home after the tournament and the 12 players continues to New Delhi India, where the Commonwealth games will be held in October.

The FORU Squad includes Simaika Mikaele, Afa Aiono, Apelu Faaiuga, Pale Toelupe,Ofisa Trevaranius,Alafoti Faosiliva,Levi Afamasaga,Alatasi Tupou,Lolo Lui, Paul Chan Tung, Reupena Levasa,Fautua Otto,Mikaele Pesamino, Uale Ma'i,Sonny Niue,and Taulagi Afamasaga.The Non Travelling reserves will be Falemiga Selesele and Taupo Sefo.

Head Coach Stephen Betham says, there may be a change in the squad, if one of the most valuable and oldest member of the team decides to take on his contract. Coach Betham is reluctant to name the 'player" until Thursday or Friday this week.

Samoa's Under 19, has yet to be defeated after another cricket scores against cousins from American Samoa, with a 52 win against nil. Eventhough, Samoa proved too good for American Samoa, its coach, Malo Sefo, is quite confident, that his team needs 4 more years then his team will be back and beat every one in the tournament. "We are here to play and learn how to play rugby from all the teams, we are in the learning process"

For Samoa's team, the boys played a very convincing game, with 8 tries in total. A win described by American Samoa, Falefata Moli Lemana, it should not be the case. "Samoa should win more than 100 points over my boys" "I am so proud of my boys, due to the fact their defence was terrific, they managed to block the points from reaching 100" Falefata further added, "please be reminded this is American Samoa's first time in the tournament are determined to make it better"

Samoa's number 10 and the team's main spin Patrick Fa'apale's outstanding skills as always had a nose for a gap,holding the ball out in front of him and dazzles all trying to tackle him in a very skillful way.Another outstanding player was Pita Semeane Samoa's number 6, who is labelled by oceaniarugby.com as New Zeland's former All Black, Jerry Collins clone.

So far, Samoa is doing good, but it is speculated it has yet to be tested with the likes of Papua New Guinea, and the Cook Islands."As I said in the beginning we are not to estimate any other teams, all the teams taking part in the tournament are good" said Head Coach Palea Setu -Tuilaepa.

 Samoa and Cook Islands have yet to be deafeated, and will lock horns in the finals this Friday.
