Workshops are conducted for representatives from clubs, provincial and school unions for skills development and accreditation in attending to injured players and spectators.

Recently, introduced and delivered by New Zealand and Australian rugby unions is RugbySmart, an  occupational health and safety program that seeks to create an awareness among players, referees, and coaches of the safety aspects of rugby in technical areas in scrum, tackle, line outs, maul and rucking.

RugbySmart is about ongoing commitment from everyone involved in the game to ensure that it is successful in prevention of (serious) injuries.  Rugby like many things has evolved, the players have become bigger and the tackles have become harder.  RugbySmart is about making sure everyone involved is competent in their role and with their skills.
