MANU SAMOA WIN IRB WORLD CUP 2009 QUALIFIERS CUP FINAL!

Our Manu boys were on a totally different level, easily beating Tonga 52-0 to take out the Men's Cup Final. Samoa dominated from the kick-off and never let up as they scored try after try to keep the scoreboard ticking. Tonga didn't bother the scoreboard operater at all, as they were unable to find a way through that tough Samoan defence. Well done to both Samoa and Tonga for a great Cup Final, and well done to all the men's teams who took part in the Tournament. 

 

WOMEN'S CUP FINAL: IRB Rugby World Cup 2009 Qualifiers

Australia score right on the hooter to beat New Zealand 22-15 in what was an exciting match between the two best Women's teams in the tournament. At 15-all with seconds to go in the game, most were expecting the match to go into extra time, but a classy try to the Aussies sealed it. Well done Australia and to all the Women's teams who participated in the IRB Rugby World Cup 2009 Qualifiers! Up next will be a might Men's Cup Final between our Manu boys and Tonga! 
 

 

FINALS: Match 32 - IRB Rugby World Cup 2009 Qualifiers

The Cook Islands finish the tournament in 3rd place, beating a very strong Niue team 33-15. Well done to the Cooks. Up next is the Women's Final between New Zealand and Australia, easily the two form teams of this competition. The crowd are pumped in anticipation for what should be a great match between these two fierce rivals. 

 

 
FINALS: Match 31 - IRB Rugby World Cup 2009 Qualifiers

As hard as they tried, the Manu Sina just couldn't match it with the Fijians, losing 21-7, to finish the tournament in 4th place. Fiji had a good tournament, finishing in 3rd. It was a great experience for the Manu Sina girls, and they will only get better with the experience they gained throughout this tournament. Well done girls!

PNG won a close fought match against the Solomon Islands, winning 19-12. After 12-all at halftime, PNG just edged them out to win the Plate Final. Next up our Manu Sina girls take on Fiji for 3rd place...

Vanuatu kept Tahiti scoreless to take out 7th place in the IRB Rugby World Cp 2009 Qualifiers, winning 24-0. Tahiti finish their campaign in 8th position.

Tonga defeats Niue 27-5 to advance to the Mens Cup Final against our Manu boys. Niue will play the Cook Islands for 3rd and 4th place.

Samoa made it look easy against a Cook Islands team which tried hard. Samoa's 34-0 win advances them to the Mens Cup Final, to be fought out with the winner of the Tonga v Niue clash. Go the Manu!!

New Zealand win a very entertaining match against a valiant Fiji, wining 35-10. New Zealand will take on Australia in the Womens Cup Final, while Fiji will take on our Manu Sina for 3rd and 4th place. Up next - our mighty Manu boys take on the Cook Islands.

Australia prove too good for our Samoan women, winning 29-0 to advance to the Womens Cup Final, while the Manu Sina will play off for 3rd place.

The Solomons defeat Vanuatu 22-14 in the Plate Semi Final to set up a showdown with PNG in the Plate Final. Vanuatu will play Tahiti for 7th Place later today..  

 

FINALS: Match 23 - IRB Rugby World Cup 2009 Qualifiers
Saturday 26 July 2008 
PNG start their Finals campaign with an emphatic victory over Tahiti, winning 31-7. PNG go on to play the winner of the Solomons v Vanuatu match, while Tahiti live another day to play the loser of the Solomons v Vanuatu match. 
IRB Rugby World Cup 2009 Qualifiers

11 Pacific Nations will battle it out in the IRB Rugby World Cup 2009 Qualifiers taking place in Apia, Samoa on the 25th and 26th July.
The tournament will showcase the regions best players, in what promises to be a typical Pacific affair: physical strength and that world famous speed and flair. Kick off will take place at 9:00am on Friday 25th July at Apia Park, with the Finals taking place on Saturday 26th
